Please note the following misprints on the 2008-09 report cards. These errors are found only on printed copies of the School Report Card distributed in January 2010.

Elementary only: The second bar in the graph on the front cover is labeled 47% when it should be 42%.

Spanish only: The labels for “English learners” and “Students with disabilities” are reversed in the subgroup table on Page 5.

High School only: The data are reversed for “English learners” and “Students with disabilities” for math in the bar graph on Page 4. Electronic files are correct.

The Second Annual School Experience Survey is Underway

Students, employees, and parents/guardians are being asked to lend their voices to how we look at school performance in the 2009-10 year. Printed surveys for students (grades 3 and above), teachers, and parents/guardians are being delivered between now and the end of the month. Contact your school to find out when surveys are coming to your campus or your home. Online surveys for all groups will be available on this website soon. Please contact us with any questions.

2008-09 School Report Cards are Now Available

The second School Report Cards for LAUSD schools were released January 27, 2010. Important partners in this effort include The United Way of Greater Los Angeles, the California Community Foundation, the LAUSD Parent Community Services Branch and Communities for Educational Equity. We are also working with representatives from schools, including teachers, administrators, families, and parent leadership organizations such as the LAUSD Parent Steering Committee and the Parent Collaborative. If you or your organization would like to be involved in this work, please contact us at any time at reportcard@lausd.net.

What is the School Report Card?

The School Report Card is a document published each year by LAUSD that summarizes data about individual schools and is provided directly to families. It helps families understand how a school is performing in a number of key areas like graduation rates, student performance on standardized tests, English learner progress, and how well connected students, parents, and employees are with their school. The second annual School Report Card was released to the public on January 27, 2010 and is now available for all regular high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools in LAUSD. Parents and guardians should contact their children's school if they have not received a School Report Card for that school. A School Report Card can be downloaded for any school that received one in any of nine languages here on this website. CLICK HERE.

Helping Schools and Families Use the 2008-09 School Report Card

In partnership with the Parent Community Services Branch, the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, and dozens of parent organizations across the city, we are working hard to ensure that every parent in LAUSD knows the School Report Card is now available, what it looks like, and how it can help them partner with their schools. Below are links to materials you can download to assist us in realizing this goal (all documents are in English and in portable document format or pdf except where otherwise noted). Please contact the School Report Card team with any questions you have or to request materials you can’t find here.
