Overview

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is a Congressionally mandated assessment administered to students in grades 4, 8, and 12. Assessments are conducted in mathematics, reading, science, writing, the arts, civics, economics, geography, and US history.

Also administered are the Long Term Trend and Trial Urban District Assessment (TUDA). The Long Term Trend is administered in mathematics and readeing every four years and given to students 9, 13, and 17 years of age. The TUDA assesses reading, mathematics, and science in ten urban school districts including Los Angeles.
