ABOUT BUSINESS SERVICES DIVISION (BSD)
The Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Business Services Division is responsible for all LAUSD Food Services, Procurement Services and Transportation serving the District’s close to 700,000 students and 84,000 employees throughout Los Angeles. Below is a brief summary of each Business Services Division department’s key responsibilities.
Purchasing Branch—Responsible for the purchase, lease or rental of goods and general services with the exception of land and buildings
Materiel Management Branch—Operates a Supplies and Equipment, Foods, and Maintenance Warehouse through which delivery of such goods and equipment are made directly to schools and offices. Additionally, the MMB operates and provides other services through the Mail Distribution, Reprographics (Repro), and Truck Operation Units.
Contract Administration Branch—assists in the acquisition of professional services through various contracting methods such as a Request for Proposal.
Policy, Procedures and Compliance Unit (PPCU)—Develops and maintains District-wide procurement policy and procedures, conducts internal compliance verification, oversees the District P-Card Program and employee travel, as well as, provides procurement training for District schools and offices
Oversees the District’s Transportation Branch, which provides home-to-school transportation for special District programs including student integration, special education and other transportation services
Operates five major garage facilities required to service approximately 3,400
District-owned buses, trucks, autos, vans and 3,000 specialized power equipment
