Title I Achieving Schools Study- This study addresses a need expressed by the Board of Education and of Specially-Funded Programs Division for information on promising school-level practices of LAUSD’s elementary schools receiving Title I funding.
Med-COR Program Evaluation - Med-COR is a jointly sponsored program by the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine and the LAUSD Student Integration Services; aimed at Hispanic, Black, Asian, and other non-Anglo students interested in health careers.
Latino Academic Achievement Case Study Project - Latino Academic Achievement Case Study (LAACS) project came about as a result of the LAUSD Board of Education resolution directing the Superintendent to request that appropriate District staff immediately research the best practices of District schools that have a strong record of Latino student achievement.
Teaching American History Grant Evaluation - This evaluation studies the impact of participation in the Teaching American History Grant professional development program on teachers’ historical content knowledge, instructional practice in history, and student performance in the classroom.
Full Day Kindergarten Evaluation - The evaluation focuses on the effects of half-day and full-day kindergarten instruction on classroom support, instructional practice, and children’s social and literacy-related outcomes.
Promising Practices: Charter Schools - Research and Evaluation began in 2004 to explore the diversity of charter school types, contexts, and practices found in Los Angeles.
ELD Practicum Evaluation This evaluation examines the newly designed professional development delivered through the ELD Practicum and the introduction of the Enhanced Into English! program in grades K to 5.
Small Learning Communities Implementation Study This study examines the implementation of Small Learning Communities (SLC) plans, which are designed to reorganize large secondary schools into smaller semi-autonomous units.
