On April 20, 2010 the Los Angeles County Museum of Art will host American Stories: Paintings of Everyday Life. The evening program will consider the ways the genre of narrative painting has been used to create many of America's most enduring images and national myths, how works of art help to document personal and national stories, and the role of personal and national narratives in contemporary society.
